Plans revealed to transform empty Hull city centre offices

A Hull city centre office block could be transformed under radical new plans. George House, which is just a stone’s throw from Queens Gardens, is made up of six floors of empty office space – but they could soon be turned into trendy new flats. Plans have been submitted to the council for the building, which is in George Street, to be made into 47 brand new apartments. If approved by Hull City Council planners, they would provide city centre accommodation within touching distance of Hull’s shops, restaurants and attractions.George House sits between ResQ and Archeron Games and almost every level, including its basement, are vacant. A business is currently letting the ground and first floor. The plans were discussed at the Conservation Area Advisory Committee meeting earlier this month – prompting mixed responses.
